I love this cafe! It’s small, and can get quite packed and busy during peak hours, so don’t come with a large group. The interior is cute and homey. I came for lunch, which runs from 11am-3pm. The food consists of a selection of steamed dumplings and veggies. I got the shrimp dumplings and veggie set. It came with rice, broth, and side dishes, as well as a drink. I chose a hot black tea with milk, but you can also order the tea with sugar and/or lemon as well. The drink came after the meal and was served with ice cream that was garnished with lemon jam and a biscuit. The tea temperature was very hot and the milk was served separately, so you can pour however much you like. The lunch sets were about 1300-1400 yen. This place is also known for its chiffon cake. You can eat it in person, or you can get a chiffon cake sandwich to go, which I did. There are many flavors and all looked very delicious. I got the strawberry one. The chiffon cake sandwich was about 500 yen.

Lovely cafe! I had a set of chiffon cake and black coffee. The chiffon was super soft and yummy I tried the coffee recommended by the store on that day. Pretty good but not too special.

Extremely, extremely popular and crowded even now. It’s a good idea to reserve a table before you go. Their cakes are all soft and delicious and come with different plating designs. My one (tiramisu mountain) had a rabbit, and my friend’s (blueberry cream cheese) had red spots. The drinks are also nice. Be sure to try out all the cake flavours!!

A must-see in Saijo. Their cakes were absolutely fantastics. You have to go through a small alley to get there but it is totally worth it. The atmosphere and the decoration are vintage and lovely.

Cafe trecasa is a 古民家 cafe. The atmosphere is cozy and rustic, perfect for a date or just hanging out with friends. I had iced chai and the strawberry cheese chiffon cake. Loved both. The chiffon cake was so soft and fluffy. The flavor was rich but not too overwhelming. At first I thought the portion was big but actually one person can finish it easily. The chai tasted amazing unlike chais that you get in chain stores. I could taste the spices and the balance was just right. I will definitely recommend this cafe to my friends.
